AACC’s award winning literary magazine hosted their first themed coffee house of this semester.

Amaranth’s editor-in-chief, Mike Pieroazlio, said tonight’s theme of love and breakup was a chance to reflect on Valentine’s Day.

The audience was filled with usual Amaranth attendees.

Ren Bishop, a second-year psychology student, sang while playing the piano. When she began her cover of Somebody To Love, the room fell silent.

“I really love being able to perform in front of people because I don’t do it as often as I like, and people are really welcoming,” she said

Mitchell Santos, a second-year creative writing and psychology student, performed two poems this evening.

“I wanted to get my poems out there and make people feel something,” he said.

Amaranth’s next coffee house is March 3, but the Magazine is only accepting more entries for publish till Friday, the 15th. Submit online to https://amaranth.submittable.com/submit for a chance to have your work published.
