English professor Candice Hill is teaching a section of ENG 102 on how to deal with death as part of a learning community with a COM 111 class.

Jacob Hudson, Associate Editor

Three sections of English 102 will focus on themes related to fields of interest, or FOIs:

  • Section 020: Uncovering Academic Identity, FOI: Criminal Justice
  • Section 033: Reinventing Ourselves: Stories of Change and Transfer, FOI: Transfer Studies
  • Section 026: Health and Human Services

In addition, Hill and Dr. Susan Kilgard, who teaches Communications 111, Fundamentals of Oral Communication, have partnered to offer a learning community on the topic of “Last W(rites): Dealing with, not Dwelling in Death.”

Students taking the learning community must enroll in Section 078 of both ENG 102 and COM 111 and attend back-to-back classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
