About 20 AACC students and Health and Wellness club members played dodgeball in the Jenkins Gymnasium Nov. 15.

The club page on The Nest, AACC’s student organization and event site, its mission is to “explore…and promote health and wellness on campus and in the community.”

“There’s a balance for everyone,” said physician assistant major Dave Newman, about the activities the club hosts. “We do campus hikes pretty often.”

“I like this club because the people here are interested in the same things I am,” said Chris Cook, an exercise and health fitness major.

Club advisor Deborah Hammond, also an exercise and health fitness major, said the club encourages healthy living by promoting healthy food for college students on the go, and hosting events that involve exercise or movement.

“We are constantly working to increase participation to promote a healthy lifestyle,” Hammond said.

The health and wellness club will host a yoga class just before finals to help students “relieve stress and promote health and well-being on Dec. 6 at noon in GYM 107.
