The AACC men’s soccer team played CCBC of Essex on Sept. 26 and lost 4-3 with a last minute goal.

The game forced the team to play hard throughout and they had to be on their toes the entire time according to head coach Nick Cosentino.

“I liked the grit and heart that we showed being down and coming back in the game,” Cosentino said. “Based on the scores this was the toughest game [the team] played.”

Mark Woodward, center defender and second-year said “we hung in there … this was the toughest team we played this year,” Woodward said. “I feel like we could have done better on tracking back on defense especially when they had quick opportunities up the field and had breakaways.”

“They played a great game and the whole team is happy on what they accomplished,” said Cosentino. “We still need to work on our defensive marking in the midfield and our communication at times.”

Midfielder and second-year Noah Beall said “that is by far the best team that we played and we gave it our all.”

Beall said that the team is “coming along” but they need to work on  keeping up with their defense.

“The men’s soccer team played with a lot of grit” Cosentino said. “The team is happy with the game and the one thing they want to improve on is defense and communication.”

As of Oct. 3, AACC’s men’s soccer is 4-3.
