Children and parents participated in the ninth annual Easter egg hunt on campus in AACC’s dining hall Saturday morning.

The free event featured Easter egg hunts for different age groups, as well as arts and crafts and a photo op with the Easter bunny.

“The Easter egg hunt is a great event for the AACC community,” said Leslie Cook, who works in AACC’s Student Engagement Office and organized the event. “Students with children are able to attend a family-friendly event and staff and faculty can make the school a family affair.”

This year, 177 children registered for the event. “In the last three years attendance has stayed roughly the same,” Cook said. “We usually have right under or around 200 children participate.”

Preparations for the Easter egg hunt take several weeks. “Registration opens two weeks before the event and the week of we stuff eggs and make sure we have enough for all the children,” Cook said. “This year we stuffed more than 1500 eggs.”

Participants included AACC students, faculty and staff, and members of the community surrounding the college.
