Transfer deadlines approach quickly

Deadlines are approaching for students looking to transfer to a four-year school in the fall.

Matthew Thomas, a junior undecided major, said transferring to a four-year school will have its ups and downs.

“Even if you’re not sure what you want to do, transferring to a four-year is still exciting,” Thomas said.

Thomas is looking to transfer to UMBC or Temple University.

Nathan Harrison, a freshman business marketing major, said he has mixed feelings about transferring to a four-year school.

“I’m excited but also kind of nervous because of bigger classrooms and different people,” Harrison said.

Harrison is looking to transfer to University of Central Florida.

Carl Isaacs, academic advisor, emphasized to students looking to transfer to a four-year school about planning.

“Once the students tells me what their goals are and where they’re looking to transfer to, we make a plan to make sure they follow it and succeed,” Isaac said.

Patrice Lyons, articulation and transfer counseling , said the advice, she would give to transfer students is to take every course seriously.

“Every course you take, take it seriously because GPA does matter,” Lyons said.

Lyons said another way for students to get look at what college they want to attend, is to go to Transfer Day on March 27 from 11 to 2 in the cafeteria.
