“I basically discharge books, shelf books, issue library cards. I don’t really have an exact job title. It can get a little slow and it’s a pretty laid back job but it’s great for people watching. I’ve been working here for about 4 months and plan to continue to work here until I graduate or transfer to a 4-year school; as long as I am under the federal aid work study,” sophomore transfer studies major Keith Dresser said.

“We mostly help people with research and finding books, magazines and helping them with the Library database. We’re known as reference librarians. Besides us there are about 17 – 18 people working in the library including the students we have. I’ve been working here for 17 years and full time,” Nina Parikh (left) said.

“I’ve been working here for 12 years but I only work part – time. It just seems that after a certain age, time seems to be going by so quickly. So it doesn’t really seem that I have been here for 12 years. We also basically answer almost any question students ask, we try to help any way we can,’’ Anne Davis said.

“I’ve been working here about 2 years and work here about 3-5 days a week. It’s going to get a lot busier once spring registration starts November 15, but for now it’s mainly people asking questions about classes and withdrawals, stuff like that. I answer questions about the registration process and help them register,” Daniel Capps said.

“My job is to bring in people from outside of the college. I go to schools and talk about the college and help them understand the process of enrolling at AACC. I also go to different communities, mostly Hispanic communities since I am the Hispanic Community Liaison. I’ve been working here since 2009 and love it. The best thing about my job is meeting and talking to new people,” Enrollment Specialist Rosalies Toledo said.

“We’re cashiers for the bookstore, we take people’s photo ID’s pictures and occasionally help out with the displays that are in the window. The first two weeks and the last week of the semester is the busiest. I work here once a week for about 4 or 5 hours, for about a year and a half,” sophomore nursing major Hanna Billing (left) said.

“I work here for almost a year and 3 times a week. Right now it’s usually slow and just people buying merch or everyday school supplies. It’s a pretty laid back job,” sophomore criminal justice major Cierra Rodgers said.
