AACC’s Women’s Cross Country won their fifth straight regional championship last weekend.

Five Riverhawks were among the race’s Top 10 finishers, with AACC sophomore Sidney Hinkle as the top Riverhawk in second place.

“[We were] a little skeptical,” said head coach Jim Griffiths. “Honestly, I didn’t know if we could win;
I didn’t know if we could repeat” the team’s prior successes.

He said winning consecutive regional championships is especially sweet for the runners who won last year.

“They were ecstatic,” Griffiths said.

The team will travel to Fingerlakes Community College of New York on Nov. 12 for the national competition.
