Nominations for the role of Student Government Association president or vice president have opened. Shown, SGA executive vice president Rabiyatou Bah, left, and President Zack Buster at last year’s presidential debate.

Students can nominate themselves until April 5 to run to become president or a vice president of the Student Government Association for next school year.

Candidates will campaign from April 8 to 12 for the executive board, which includes the positions of president and six vice presidents. The entire student body will vote online from April 15 to 19.

Outgoing President Zack Buster said the SGA is looking for motivated students to run for the executive board.

“Motivation is really what makes the SGA function,” Buster said. “You really need people who are really committed to making AACC a better place and leaving something behind with their leadership.”

Buster added: “If you want to see something happen at AACC, be the one to make it happen. … Let’s say you’re part of a broader group of people that you don’t think are represented in the college enough. [Then] run for SGA and be that change that you want to see in AACC and be that person to do it.”
