Tired of binge-watching Gilmore Girls and eating day-old Chipotle in your pajamas during winter
break? Want to avoid those “How’s college?” questions from relatives you only see once a year for the
holidays? Maybe you want to impress your boo with a romantic winter date night, or take the kids out
to see Santa.

Whatever the case is, there are tons of fun events and attractions in our area to save you from
that winter break boredom.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Friends of Downs Park are hosting “Cookies and Cocoa with Santa” at
Downs Park in Pasadena. The cost is $5 per person or $10 per family. Fun for the whole family!

maybe this next winter event is for you. DC Santa Crawl is a winter/holiday season themed bar crawl
based in Washington D.C. The Santa Crawl is on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 1 pm – 10 pm.

Forget to get bae a present for the holidays? Do not fret! The Campus Current has got you
covered. Take your significant other to Annapolis City Harbor on Dec 13 for the East Yacht Club Lights
Parade. The parade is a magical experience where dozens of joyful sailors deck their boats out with
colored lights and sail through the harbor. And it’s free of charge. You’re welcome.

To help you get into the holiday spirit, check out “Black Nativity” which will be playing at the
Anacostia Playhouse in DC on Dec 21. “Black Nativity” is a retelling of the Christmas story from an Afrocentric
perspective is infused with rich gospel, blues, funk, jazz, and dance from an ensemble cast. Tickets are $35 at the door.

Last but definitely not least is New Years! Ring in the New Year at the Mansion on O Street in DC
for their New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball! Wear your favorite mask and explore the different themed
rooms and secret doors.
