Anne Arundel County offers free COVID-19 vaccines and tests on AACC’s Arnold campus.

In addition, the college has testing sites on its Arundel Mills and Glen Burnie Town Center campuses.

The campus has administered more than 77,000 shots to students, faculty, staff and the public since January 2021, according to Arlene Crow, the emergency manager for AACC’s Public Safety and Police Department.

Appointments are preferred for getting the vaccine. To register, go to www.aahealth.org.

Having vaccine and testing sites on campuses has been “a great asset to [the] campus and the community,” Crow said. “The fact that Anne Arundel Community College is so centrally located, it’s helped a lot of people get to us without having to drive out of their way to get to a place that offers the vaccinations.”

The college requires students, faculty and staff to show proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations before they can take in-person classes or work on campus. Those who opt out of the vaccine can show proof of a negative COVID-19 test each week.

Vice President for Learning Resources Management Melissa Beardmore said the college isn’t requiring booster shots.

“We follow [Centers for Disease Control] guidance,” Beardmore said. “The definition of fully vaccinated right now is two weeks after your appropriate series of vaccines. … So we’re waiting to see what CDC says about boosters going forward.”

Shots are administered in Annex A on the Arnold campus Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from noon to 3 p.m.

“Especially now with [more] classes back face-to-face, for us to find a spot where there is enough room for the clinic to operate out of because we’ve got classes going on almost everywhere.” Crow said. “That’s why we put them in Annex A because [it is] currently an unused building.”

Crow said AACC hands out and updates vaccination cards.

Appointments are not required for getting a COVID-19 test and results are available online.

COVID-19 tests are offered in Room 135 of the Arnold campus Mathematics building on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Monday’s hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:p.m. Thursday hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

People experiencing COVID symptoms are allowed in Room 135 for testing on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.

Testing is available at the Arundel Mills campus, Rooms 108 and 109 on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Testing is also available at the Glen Burnie campus, Rooms 211 and 212 on Tuesdays from 11 a.m to 6 p.m.

Unvaccinated students can upload their test results to studentvax@aacc.edu by Wednesday each week. Employees should email employeevax@aacc.edu.

KN95 masks are for sale at the bookstore and the Student Union.
