AACC’s women leaders share best advice
“Finish your education, create a commemorative remembrance and legacy, be a good role model for women in your life, travel the world and wear sunscreen.”
“Develop your leadership skills early, start in college by taking positions in clubs, committees and in the community. And then after you graduate and get your first job, take on tasks and projects other people may not want and do a really good job so people get noticed. Just lastly, don’t let anybody tell you you can’t do something.”
“Get involved. Take on tasks that other people aren’t interested in taking. Make yourself an asset to your organization. Set a goal, determine what the requirements are to achieve that goal … hold yourself accountable for moving forward.”
“Never doubt yourself when someone else thinks you can do the job.”
“Be open to possibilities and try everything.”
“Never doubt yourself when someone else thinks you can do the job.”
“Be consistent, be kind, be organized and thick skinned.”
“Trust yourself and build relationships with others.”
