A second-year communications student became the new editor-in-chief of Campus Current in August.
Amber Nathan joined Campus Current as a reporter in January before becoming ad manager in February. In her new role as editor, she oversees the paper and assigns and edits stories.
“She’s nice, efficient, fun, easy to work with,” said professor Sharon O’Malley, the newspaper’s faculty adviser.
Nathan said her passion is creative writing, but her experience at the newspaper has been invaluable.
“She can do both,” O’Malley said.
“I feel no matter what job you go into you should be able to write creatively and concisely,” Nathan said.
For aspiring editors, O’Malley noted she looks for good writers with a passion for journalism who respect deadlines.
