AACC hires new director

A new director of the Center for Faculty and Staff Development will start on July 16.

As director, Andrea Zamora will supervise and evaluate staff, manage the budget for the center and lead professional development training to improve the quality of the college.

Zamora will leave her job as director of Growth and Development for Anne Arundel County Public Schools at the end of this academic year.

Zamora holds two master’s degrees: a Master of Science in School Administration and Supervision from John’s Hopkins and a Master of Reading Education from Towson University.

According to Alycia Marshall, Associate Vice President for Learning and Academic Affairs at AACC, Zamora “brings with her a wealth of experience in professional development of both faculty and staff as well as extensive background in curriculum assessment and providing support to teachers.”

Zamora has nearly 20 years of experience instructing adult learners in Anne Arundel County.

Marshall said director Jen Lara did a “tremendous job” leading the center for the past several years.

Lara will continue to direct into the summer while Zamora receives training in her new role.
