AACC’s newly designed website looks modern, but some information is harder to find, students said in April.

In an informal poll of 10 students on campus, seven of them said they are pleased with the website’s new design.

“It looks cleaner, more organized,” Ayse Prior, a fourth-year student, said.” It looks like they are trying [to] help people more.”

AACC unveiled its newly designed website on April 3. Public Relations and Marketing Executive Director Dan Baum said his department, which oversees the site, wanted to remove clutter and make it easier for students to navigate.

Katie Kursch, a second-year student, said the new website is “very social media savvy” and “very pleasing to look at.”

But some students, like second-year student Emmanuel Kumah, said they had no idea the college had a new website: “We have a new website?” he asked.

A couple of students said they do not like the website, however.

Ashleigh Castille, a first-year student, called the redesigned site “kind of distracting [and] there’s too much going on here.”

And Amanda Kissinger, a first-year student, explained that “things are harder to find” on the site.

Baum said he appreciates feedback from students. “This was for the students, so feedback … is critical,” Baum said.

The next step, he said, is to enhance the site with more video, photos and additional information that students have said they want.
