The Game Development Club has meetings Thurs. at 5 p.m. in Cade 322 starting on Jan. 29.

The meeting consists of a presentation or a lecture and the club collectively work on projects together and usually snacks are involved.

Lucas Gotavos, a game art design major, is a member who has been with the club since the beginning of fall 2014.

“It is a good place to socialize and get feedback on things” said Gostavos.

According to Gostavos, the coolest part of the club is the Game Jam that they held a few weeks ago. The Game Jam is a game developing event that lasts 48 hours where participants make a game from scratch and then share it with the rest of the club.

Gostavos created a game called Vampire Yeti Operation that can be found at: Lucasgotavos.net/downloads.

The club is open to all members whether or not they are experienced. This upcoming semester the club is looking at a number of guest speakers such as: Chris Apple, sound producer for Bully Entertainment, an artist who contributed to
the original art for World of Warcraft, and Ben Walsh, CEO and founder of Pure Bang.

President of the club, Landon Hood invites everyone who is looking for a “fast track game development, a hub for any developers trying to find any answers they have” to join him.
